What is the Rio Scanning Laser x60?
The Rio Scanning Laser x60 is a home hair removal device that works to permanently reduce hair growth on your legs, underarms, arms, bikini line and face without costly visits to the salon. You can target either individual hairs, or up to 60 hairs at a time, making it suitable for either small or large areas of hair reduction. The Rio Laser sends out a powerful laser beam which travels through your hair follicles to effectively destroy hair roots without causing pain or affecting the surrounding area.
How does the Rio Scanning Laser work?
The Rio Scanning Laser x60 uses the latest photothermolysis technology to help you achieve permanent hair reduction. The scanner emits a powerful beam of laser light that’s made from a single wavelength of colour. The melanin pigments in your skin absorb this laser light, and the heat produced is conducted down the hair follicle. The light then destroys the cells that are responsible for your hair growth. This works to permanently reduce the rate at which you hair grows back.
How long before the Rio Scanning Laser shows results?
To achieve the best results you will need to have 6 laser treatments over a 6 month period. You may require more depending on your hair density, colour, growth cycle, and the area of your body that you are treating. It may take some time to see visible results as treated hair doesn’t always fall out immediately from the hair follicle. If you suffer from excess hair growth because of unbalanced hormones it is likely that you may need to continue with long term treatment to inhibit your hair growth.
Are there any side effects?
The Scanning Laser does not cause any known side effects. Your skin may turn slightly red after using the Rio Scanning Laser, but this will usually fade after 24 hours. If the redness does not fade quickly, massage an un-perfumed lotion over the area to soothe your skin, or place a wet towel or ice pack over the redness to alleviate any swelling.
If you are using the Rio Scanner x60 to treat your under arm area, avoid using deodorant for 3 days after your treatment. You should avoid the sun for at least a week after treatment, but always apply sunscreen to the treated area if you have to go out into the sun. Do not swim in chlorinated water or use a hot tub for 48 hours after your treatment session.
How do I use the Rio Scanning Laser x60?
It’s recommended that you use the laser on hairs that have been trimmed to 1mm-2mm for the best results. Select the power mode that is right for your skin type by using the +/- buttons. Press the scan button, and place the wand on your skin. Continue to hold the button on the wand to zap the hair you want to remove. After you have zapped the hair, move onto the next area.
Do a patch test before using the Rio Scanning Laser x60 to prevent any allergic reaction from occurring. This will also help to confirm the right power level for your skin type. It is important that you patch test each area individually as your skin colour can vary on different parts of your body.
