What are female genitals? Well female genitals are the reproductive organs of a female body! When it comes to female genitals, there´s a lot of know, because the female genitals consist of two kinds, very similar to that of male genitals the external female genitals and the internal female genitals. Let us get to know the inside out of external female genitals first. External female genitals consist of the vulva, the labia and the clitoris. The vulva itself are of two kinds. It is the most external part of the female genitals. The first kind of vulva is normally seen when a women is standing up. That is the normal view of the vulva, and the 2nd kind of vulva is when it is opened. When a vulva is opened, when seen from top to bottom, one can see the veneris mons, clitoral hood, clitoris, and labia minora. The other external part of female genitals is the labia again made up of two parts the labia majora and the labia minora… Phew! So much to remember in just female genitals! The labia majora are basically the outer lips of the vulva and are fatty tissues that wrap around the vulva. These labia contain numerous sweat and oil glands, the scent of which is believed to be sexually arousing. The labia is generally covered with pubic hair, if not shaved. The labia minora are the inner lips of the vulva very thin stretches of tissue within the labia majora. They protect the vagina. The appearance of the labia minora varies vastly from being the tiny lips behind the labia majora to becoming large lips when stretched. Both the outer and the inner labia are very sensitive to touch and pressure. These two parts of the female genitals together form the gateway to a woman´s sexual core. They also protect the internal female genitals. Then comes the clitoris! Well yes, the clitoris, remember the high school sex education class on female genitals? It is the bump at the top of the labia majora. The clitoris is sort of a mini-penis. It is a small body of spongy tissue that is highly sensitive. Only the tip of it is elongated, but it is branched till the rim of the vaginal opening towards the perineum. Some women may have very small clitoris and some of them can have a very large clitoris. During intercourse the clitoris is perhaps the most sensitive part of the female genitals that gives them most pleasure. Now let is know about the internal female genitals. Internal female genitals consist of the vagina, uterus, ovaries, and of course the G-Spot. Vagina is a very well know word for most of us. The vagina is actually a canal that serves as a receptacle for the penis during sexual intercourse and is also a birth canal for the baby to pass through during labour. An average vagina is about 3-4 inch long, but it extends upwards into the body during sexual intercourse to receive the penis. It can extend according to the size of the penis. After the sexual intercourse the vagina contracts back to its original size.
On both sides of the vagina opening there are glands named Bartholin´s glands, which produces small amounts of lubricating fluid, to keep the inner labia moist during intercourse. Bartholin´s glands thus are also an important part of female genitals. Then we have the uterus which is commonly known as the womb. This is that part of female genitals that nurtures a foetus. The uterus is lined with powerful muscles to push the baby out during labour.
The ovaries generally perform two major functions they produce the female sex hormones estrogen and progesterone and also the eggs. Finally there is the G-Spot! This is a word which is very familiar to most people. It is considered to be the most sensitive of all female genitals in the sense that it can bring a woman to orgasm when stimulated.
Most women claim they feel extreme pleasure when their G-spot comes under pressure. This spot is deep within the tissues so some pressure is required to touch the G-Spot. Technically the G-Spot is a region known as the Skenes, and as the skenes glands are alongside the bladder, some women may feel the need to urinate while the G-Spot is being felt. Now that should be good enough education about female genitals. Hope it has cleared all your doubts about female genitals and you are clear about them.
