How do the tests work?
The male fertility screening test works by staining the cells in your sperm sample to produce a colour in a pre-treated sample well. The intensity of this colour is then compared to a colour reference chart on the included test cassette. The colour comparison will identify whether your sperm concentration in the test sample is above 20 million/ml or below 20 million/ml. A sperm concentration below 20 million/ml is clinically indicated as a preliminary diagnosis of male infertility.
The female test measures your FSH and can tell whether you are producing sufficient levels of follicle stimulating hormones. Positive and negative lines on the provided midstream test wand can inform you whether you are in the premenopausal stage or if your fertility levels are low.
How do I use the Male Fertility Test?
The male fertility test will identify whether your sperm concentration is greater or less than 20 million per ml, which is the point used by the level the World Health Organisation to define fertility. Collect your sperm sample in the special cup provided. Wait 15 minutes and add the semen plus solution provided to the test cassette.
How do I use the Female Fertility Test?
The female fertility test checks for levels of the follicle stimulating hormone. FSH is intimately involved with your fertility and controls the regular function of your ovaries and sex hormones. It is a useful aid to assessing general female fertility. Simply remove the test cap and hold the absorbent tip in your urine stream for at least 10 seconds before results appear.
How accurate are the results?
The fertility tests are easy to use, accurate and can give results in about 10 minutes. The male fertility test is proven 97% accurate, and the female test is proven 99% accurate. If your sperm concentration in the test sample is above 20 million/ml results will show up as positive. If your sperm concentration is below 20 million/ml it will show up as negative, which is clinically indicated as a preliminary diagnosis of male infertility.
